Purpose and intent

This is a revived blog. It started out as a blog in my native language Afrikaans. For a few years it was quite active. There were many other Afrikaans bloggers who liked to argue about the topics I discussed.

But then things changed. Many of those bloggers went away and it became quite. My interest to blog dwindled. So, for a number of years the blog went quiet. However, I decided not to delete it. The funny thing is that even though I did not place new content, it kept on receiving traffic.

Then, a few years ago, I decided to write a book. I also decided to use self-publication to publish it. That means I need to promote it somehow. I could start a new blog. However, if the current one already receives some traffic, it may be a good idea to revive it. Since, the book was written in English, the blog needs to be in English now. So now the revived blog is English. It still has the Afrikaans content. Most Afrikaans speaking people are bilingual anyway.

So the purpose of the current blog is mainly to promote the book. However, since my book covers so many different topics, I hope to address various topics. Of course I may also discuss topics not related to the book. Hopefully, it will excite some debate, because I enjoy that. 🙂
